Leader and follower: Towards the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s two interactional categories to describe learning situations?

Abstract This paper offers a critique of learning viewed solely through the categories formal Vs. informal education as used by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ( oecd ). is based on perspectives ethnomethodology, conversation analysis sociocultural theory. It considers that any consists construction common object between participants. I examine two possible organizations interaction participants construct their objects in situations are glossed second language learning. In first case, activity led teacher, learner. The article shows this difference organization social has consequences proximal zone development therefore opportunities. conclusion, proposes to add typologies learning, interactional leader follower order specify roles teacher learner large number situations.
